One of the largest and most massive things in our universe is a black hole. This is an image of the event horizon around the first black hole ever directly imaged by the Event Horizon Telescope. The image was resolved using radio waves of 1.3mm. This supermassive black hole resides at the center of the Virgo A Galaxy. Virgo A is a supergiant elliptical galaxy, with a radius of more than 490,000 light years. It is located in the constellation Virgo, 53.5 million light years away. The image was captured in March 2021.
